"Whatever is TRUE, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
(I will give a definition to our word of the day; I will list an Old Testament and a New Testament verse; and a "target" verse--a verse that helps us determine why it matters to think on these things! Please share with us any other verses that come to mind!)
True--unconcealed, undeniable, fully tested.
OT--Psalm 86:11 "Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name."
NT--1 John 5:20 "And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life."
Target--3 John 3,4 "For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."
