S--Psalm 147
O--The psalmist starts with a call to worship. It's fitting and good to praise Him, because He is beautiful. Then the author starts a list of why it is good--God is at work!! God builds, He gathers, He heals, He binds up, He determines, He gives. (After considering this, the author has to take a quick break to praise!! 🤗 This becomes a pattern) God lifts, He casts, He covers, He prepares, He makes, He gives, He strengthens, He blesses, He makes peace, He fills, He sends, He gives, He scatters, He hurls, He sends, He makes, He declares. Lots of action! The recipients of these actions are the outcasts, the brokenhearted, the hurt, the humble, creation. Because He knows the number of stars and has named them, we can trust Him with our lowest times. God takes care of His creation, sustaining it and making it to flourish. He isn't impressed with how strong and fast His creation is, He takes pleasure when We are impressed with Him.💓 The psalmist then turns to the specific blessing and protection God has given to His chosen people, the children of Israel.
A--It is GOOD to sing praises to our God! God is constantly at work in our lives, and when we notice how beautifully it all works together, a song of praise is fitting. This chapter changes me by showing me all things are in God’s control. Instead of feeling fearful or resentful because I want to be in control of some things, I should be thankful that the same God who created all things is in it for the long haul! He wasn’t content to create and then turn it loose, He loves and provides and sustains and maintains and cares and protects. Praise Him!!
K—A song of praise is the LEAST I can offer. But because You take pleasure in our respect and hope in Your unwavering love, a song of praise is fitting. ❤️❤️❤️
