S--Psalm 138
O--A psalm of David. He is declaring his wholehearted, unashamed devotion to God. God's stubborn, unchanging love and faithfulness has driven David to his knees in praise and worship. God has taught His people that there is nothing more important than His name and His word, so it's in His Name that David offers thanks. David has prayed and God has faithfully answered, strengthening David's strength and trust. All the kings of the world would and will sing the praises of God, if they'd only hear what He has to say and see His glory. God is holy, but he reaches down to those who seek Him. Even those who don't seek Him are not outside of His great knowledge. David knows he's been guilty of being haughty, but God has been faithful, even protecting him from his enemies. God has a purpose for David's life and He's long suffering to see it happen!!
A--This chapter changes me by drawing my attention to the purpose God has for my life. Reading this psalm from bottom to top allows me to see the reason first--His purpose!! The Lord will fulfill His purpose for my life because of His steadfast, enduring love. Even when I walk in trouble, God is able to see the end result from His vantage point and act accordingly to His own purpose. Just as all the kings of the earth will bow at the great glory of the Lord, so will I. I will notice what's important to God, His great Name and His great Word, and I will give thanks; I will sing praise before any and all who will listen, wholeheartedly and unashamed. The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me. 💓
K--When I'm tempted to question why You are stubbornly faithful to me, I will remember that Your love is long suffering and unwavering. I will remember that You wrote my story long before I had a choice to walk rightly or wrongly before You. I pray to choose right, I pray to choose, praise, I pray to choose Your great Name and Your great Word!!
