S-Psalm 136
O--His Steadfast Love Endures Forever is repeated 26 times, once in every verse. I can imagine the Hebrew worshipers joining together in this responsive reading/song. The psalmist reminds the congregation of the various attributes and great works of God. He rehearses prominent, pivotal moments in Israel's history, times when they could clearly see God working through them and on their behalf. Together they raise their voices in thankfulness that He cares for them, provides for them. The God of heaven and earth, the Lord of lords--He not only bothers to care, He desires to care. Give thanks for His steadfast love endures forever.
A--God's unwavering devotion, faithfulness, favor, kindness, loyalty, unchanging love never end. In 2 Chronicles 7:1-3, King Solomon and all the people of Israel witnessed the glory of the Lord filling the temple. They immediately bowed down with their faces on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord by saying "For He is good, His steadfast love endures forever." When I consider all God has done, it should build up in my heart a praise that can't be stopped. Although this is a song of the Israelites, it's our song too. The same God, the same stubborn love, the same forever. Give thanks!!
K--I want to pattern my worship after this chapter.💖
