S--Psalm 111
O-Give thanks and praise with the whole heart 💓 Bring your admiration to God in front of all you encounter, with no shame. He deserves it!! He is great in everything he does, worthy to be studied. His work isn't just "nice" or "fine", it's majestic and full of splendor. (The dictionary gives a definition of splendor as "an instance or display of imposing pomp and grandeur." I think this fits. 😇) God gives so much grace and mercy; He provides; He is always available. He stands behind all of His promises; He works for the good of all mankind by the merit of His own Great Name. God's laws, commands, and wisdom can be trusted for now and for eternity. You can count on God to always be working justly because His character will NOT allow Him to act wrongly. When He buys us back, He is true to His end of the bargain. Fearing God with the great respect He deserves is just the beginning of truly understanding; the more you learn about Him, the more You understand all He has done for us. That WILL bring your mind and heart before God in praise!!
A--This chapter changes me by leading me to worship God with my whole heart. Not only the idea that there is no room for the love of anything else, but also that the all-encompassing love I have for God will guide me in my relationships, my praise, my thankfulness. The word "forever" is repeated, but in two different forms--"Ad" which means never ending or changing; and "Olam" which means from ancient to future. So my favorite verses are 7-8 which would say "The works of His hands are faithful and just; all His precepts are trustworthy; they are established with no change, with no beginning and no end." (My own paraphrase.) He is faithful, He is holy, He is awesome! Worthy to be praised, studied, and praised some more!!
K--I pray that my study of God, through His Word and through all the works I see Him doing, will always lead me to a place of praise.
