Resh--Psalm 119:153-160 (The Aleph Tav of Psalm 119)

ר Resh is the 20th letter. It makes the rolling r sound in the back of your throat, which I cannot do!   It means poor person.  It's very similar to the dalet, the 4th letter, which is also symbolized by a poor person.  The difference between the two is the dalet lacks things, but the resh is impoverished-mind, spirit, and soul.  He is poor on purpose, deliberately thinking evil thoughts.  Our r words are look, plead, cause, far, great, mercies, many, persecutors, consider, and sum.

The student is in math class, thinking through a word problem.  He starts out in the negative, looking to add deliverance. But then he has to subtract for a dispute, and the cost it will take to bail him out.  He has to subtract again for the wicked, because they have missed the mark by very much.  Then the Teacher steps in and adds His own number--great, which means much and many.  The student contrasts the Teacher's number with the exact same number of bullies and enemies.  He sits back and reasons through the problem.  He sees the bad, the negative, the subtraction, and division that seem to overcome the good, the positive, the addition, and multiplication.  But when he draws the line at the bottom for the final total, he finds that all of the negative could not out number the truth of the word of God.   And by comparing what he knows to be true from what he's already learned of God's righteous rules, he knows he has the right answer.

I'm sure you may be shocked to read this, but math is not my strong point. 😜😜😜😜😜 But I do know I'm guilty of comparing the truth of God's word to the many things I see around me, and I wait to see if God measures up.  I don't want to do your homework for you, but He Does, and by infinity more!  This is why knowing God's Word is so important.  When I start to do the math in my head and heart, and it feels like the negative column is overtaking the positive, I can KNOW that the final sum will always be in God's favor.  For His glory.  And for our good.
