S-Psalm 101
O-King David is the author. He is laying out his vow before God through music. He has looked and considered the blameless path, but he knows he can’t even get started without God’s help. David starts his vow very personally, promising integrity in his own personal actions and those that that affect his family. Then he vows to limit the negative influence of those around him; he is intentionally deciding not to allow toxicity into his life. It’s a one time vow and a daily battle.
A-This changes me by showing me an upright life doesn’t just magically happen. I can consider the path that keeps me from evil and think “I want that”. But my own willpower is not strong enough to KEEP me on the path. Only through God can I be strong enough to keep the vows I make. Every single morning Ge gives me the strength.
K-Praise to God who not only gives me strength—He IS my strength!
