Vs 2-appointed= decided before hand. Vs 3-radiance =reflection. Vs 3-exact=not just similar. Vs 3-purification of sins means blood was shed. Vs 4-Son is the name inherited. Vs 5-begotten= generated. (Psalm 2:7) Vs 6-angels worship Jesus. Vs 7-(Psalm 104:4). Vs 8-scepter=emblem. Vs 9-oil of gladness=Holy Spirit. (Isaiah 61:3; psalm 45:6-7). Vs 10-eternal Son, Jesus, with God at creation. Vs 11-They=heaven and earth. (Psalm 102:25). Vs 12-You, Jesus, are the same. Vs 13-Jesus is in the position of authority, not as an assistant. (Psalm 110-1) Vs 14

Angels minister to the people who Jesus SAVES.

The author (unknown) uses familiar psalms, or songs, to teach Jesus to the Hebrews. (This you’ve been singing about your whole life? Yeah, that’s Jesus.). He or she builds the case for the supremacy(sovereign) and superiority(highest in rank) of Christ Jesus, and just keeps building. (Layers of proof build trust). Jesus is not like the angels, He is better. He is not just a similar likeness to God, but the exact, perfect, reflection of God.

I can trust, based on the layers of testimony provided by the Old Testament prophets and Christ Jesus Himself, that Jesus is superior to angels. The angels minister, but Jesus Saves. Angels are created, Jesus is God. So knowing that, I can KNOW that Jesus is supreme and sovereign over the big picture of my life and the day to day. Jesus, You are stronger.
