Solomon begins the task of building the temple according to God’s command to his father, David. The chapter lays out specifics (can be boring but important enough to be in the Bible

God says “ Concerning this house you are building”, then proceeds to not talk about the house at all! But God is reminding Solomon that the importance of the house is not JUST in the “brick and mortar” details. It’s important for the motivation and heart behind it to be obedience to God and walking with God. Loving the Creator more than the created. Loving the commander more than the commandment.
All the things that I could possibly build in a lifetime will not matter if I’m not walking with You.
