Hebrews 10

It is impossible for sacrifice involving the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Psalm 40:6-8. God set up a copy of His eternal plan through the law, but this was not His great desire. Plan A has always been drawing us back through the perfect sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. Jesus came to do God’s will, and it’s by that same will that we are set apart or declared holy. Jesus sat down at the Father’s right hand. Jeremiah 31:33-34 is referenced. The author makes another pivotal “therefore” in vs 19. Since we know this, then we should.... Contrast of judgment by the law vs judgment in light of Christ Jesus’ sacrifice.

Jesus lived to do the will of the Father. All 3 persons of the Trinity on full display in this chapter. The will of God, accomplished through Jesus Christ, the Son, through the power of the Holy Spirit ðŸ¤— Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Father. The right hand is a place of honor and “sat” is a perfect picture of Hebrews 3:18-19–Jesus was obedient and received rest. In one act of obedience to the Father, Jesus perfected for all time those who put their trust in Him. So let’s draw near with a true heart and full assurance of faith, washed by both the blood of Jesus and the waters of baptism; let’s hold on to the faithfulness of Christ; stir each other up to love and good works; meet as often as we can; encourage one another; watch for the signs of the coming of Christ together. Let’s not fall into sin, where fear of judgment overshadows the sacrifice. Let’s not count on ourselves to be able to somehow reach the mark by being good enough and doing enough, because in that we stomp on the Son of God and laugh in the face of His blood sacrifice, and anger the Spirit. Hebrews 2:1-3 says “how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?” The answer is “Its a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Remember that it hasn’t always been easy and it won’t always be easy. We are called to a different life and it’s going to look weird to those around us. The life Jesus purchased for us is Better and it’s forever. Endure until the end , and you WILL receive what is promised.

This chapter changes me by driving me to live a life that pledges allegiance to God through the Son by the power of Holy Spirit. May it be said of us- that we cling to the hope with everything in us and we endured to the end
